Shorf Afza Syrek is an architectural designer and artist who blends her South Asian heritage with the modernist influences of her "second home," Columbus, Indiana. After earning her B.Arch in Bangladesh and exploring a diverse range of creative disciplines—from SEO to Game of Thrones fan-theory writing—she relocated to Indiana to attend the IU J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program.

A recipient of the 2024 AIA Indiana Next Gen Award and a scholar of the Christopher Kelly Leadership Development Program, Shorf is deeply committed to community service through organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Young Architect Forum. She currently resides in Franklin, Indiana, with her husband, Bret, and their three cats, where she continues to balance her professional practice with portrait painting and architectural hand-drafting.
